Sunday Series: A Constant State of Curiosity

Oct 20, 2013

Tavi is such a smart little girl and a pretty determined one too! No toy is too far out of her reach, she will wriggle, roll and make her way towards anything that catches her eye. She doesn't give up easily either - if she gets frustrated she takes a break and then goes right back to trying. It's fun watching her figure things out and seeing how happy gets when she succeeds. It keeps me on my toes, I can't leave anything easily destroyed close by, so I'm getting better at putting things away right after I use them.

Tavi loves books, not just the simple one sentence baby books, but actual stories. With big pictures and lots of words. We're currently making our way through The Munschworks Grand Treasury and books by Dr. Suess. I'm not sure who enjoys the stories more, me, Jay or Tavi. I had forgotten how funny they were! Jay occasionally reads his books out loud to Tavi, but craft beer and Odd Thomas don't hold her attention as much as rhyming prose does.

These days Mr. Whiskers is her new best friend, she had a similar crocheted octopus that she loved, but he met an unfortunate end when a pair of dogs got a hold of him. I switched the octopus out for Mr. Whiskers and Tavi hasn't seemed to mind!

my favourite little face :)

  12. LOVE that first shot with Tavi's little fist reaching out for her toy. I hadn't thought about the side-benefit to having to a baby of things always being put back where they belong! It's such a joy seeing how smitten you are with her!!
