I rarely wear heels or jeans and here we are with an outfit post that has both, it’s your lucky day! I bought these shoes a few weeks ago with the intention of wearing them to a wedding at the end of the month. After wearing them out a few times it’s looking like I’m going to have to rethink my footwear situation.  A few minutes of walking around in these things and I'm hobbling, by the end of the night I'm seriously considering walking barefoot. I'm breaking them in but it's not helping. How does one walk gracefully in stilettos?

On a completely unrelated note,  if you’re local you really should check out The Moon Room.

Trust me.

  1. I'm sorry those shoes are difficult to walk in because they look phenomenal. I've been lusting after similar pairs I spotted on my coworker and friend's gf. It's the ankle strap - slightly dom, totally sexy.

Maybe it's because there's nothing to support your foot along the sides or most of the back?

Love the thick side braid too!

  3. I have those heels and I think they're comfy lol. But that's also coming from the person whose family says she was born in heels.

    Love your outfit!

  7. I swear, I love your style. I can tell that its genuinely you! You look amazing. I love that triangle necklace from target! I also was never a big fan of jeans but most recently order Joe's skinny jeans (in like three different colors) and they are SO SO SO SO comfortable. It feels like I am wearing sweats (or maybe leggings is a better anaology).

I hear you about heels! I use to live in them and now I hardly ever wear them so when I do, I am in so much pain!

  9. Hi Emmett! Love those heels, they look great on you and I agree that by the end of most days, my feet are killing me! But they look great on you :-)

More on the Moon Room place..... A girlfriend and I are trying to find a great, fun place to go for a Birthday dinner in Ottawa. We don't go out to eat in downtown Ottawa that much so we aren't familiar with any of the must go to restaurants. Some of the reviews are mixed on Urban Spoon....can you please give me your take? What you liked what you didn't? Great post as always ;-)

    1. Your comment made me miss writing about places to eat in Ottawa!

Here's my take on The Moon Room:

My friend wanted to check it out after a show at Absolute Comedy so we went there for a few drinks. The place is tiny, so you'd want to reserve a table but if you're seated it's very comfortable. The interior has a dreamy vibe and plays great music - a lot of mello rock.

I was DDing that night so I didn't drink but the drink list is extensive and my friends were happy with what they ordered. I thought their menu was pretty good I had a hard time choosing one thing! I ended up getting the hummus app, which they put their own twist on and everyone loved it. I'd venture to say the rest of their menu is really good too.

The bartenders were awesome and very personable but when we were seated the service was just ok. Our server forgot a few things and wasn't overly friendly so I assumed she was new.

Overall I'd eat there again and jay and I are planning on having our next date there. It's a place you could easily spend the whole night drinking and talking with friends.

I hope that helps, now I've gotta go see what other people are saying about the place!!

    2. Thank you SOOOO much for your feedback. Your comment about the servers was the same as what other had mentioned; servers weren't the greatest so if you go make sure you aren't in a hurry ;-)

It seems like the atmosphere is really cool and laid back which I like. I will pass on this info to my girlfriend, thank you so much again for taking the time to reply. If I go there, I will post a review on my blog. YOU ROCK!

      Take Care :-)

  10. uncomfortable shoes are the worst. even if i try a pair of shoes on, and walk around in them, i can't tell until i actually wear them for awhile. your whole outfit rocks, and it would still look smoking hot, even barefooted. so wear what feels best. ;)

  11. you should consider some insoles for those shoes. dr scholls has some affordable ones. Is it the balls of your feet that are causing the hobbling? lol. I am in the same boat tho. I really appreciate the beauty of heels and they make me feel so sexy and elevate any outfit but I feel that the trade off is being seriously uncomfortable all night long it is not worth it I guess. Perhaps look into some gels for the inside which in my experience does make a difference. I sometimes need to remember to walk correctly in them too, heel then toe heel then toe... apparently I really need to pull walking back to an infant level because walking correctly in them can also make a huge difference. You've probably already heard of her but wendy from Wendy's lookbook has a entire youtube tutorial on walking in heels, full with tips for which gels to use for what issue etc. those shoes are too cute not to be taken for a spin again! take care pretty!

    1. thanks for sharing all this, I haven't heard of Wendy's lookbook youtube tutorial, i'm probably in the same boat as you i need to learn how to walk properly in heels! I did try some of those insoles and they helped a bit but it's possible i should have gotten a different kind. I will try a few different things, i'm not quite ready to give up!
