Your eyes do not deceive you, that is a bump you see! For weeks my co-workers have been curiously eyeing my expanding midsection and since they're starting to ask when I'm due (three cheers for finally looking slightly pregnant and not like I've been eating too many donuts!) I figure it's time I share my good news on the blog :) Yes, that's right, in a few months Jay and I will be a family of three! We're both excited and a little bit scared at of the fact we'll have a little baby to look after soon.

I've almost reached the halfway point (according to this chart, our little one is now the size of a sweet potato) and my energy is returning and the nausea is almost gone. Not to scare anyone but, the first four months were... tough. Like really, really tough. Morning sickness is a lie! For some people it's not just confined to the first part of the day. For a few lucky ones like me it's all day, all night, every. single. day.  Thank goodness for diclectin!

It's safe to say I'm almost out of things to wear, these last few weeks I've gotten really creative. I'm determined not to resort to sweats and yoga gear, but some days it's really, really tempting! The maternity stores around here are a disappointing selection of acrylic sweaters and weird looking jeans. I keep seeing bloggers wearing cute maternity clothes from Target ... perhaps a cross border shopping trip is in order.

Jay and I have started looking at names, but it'll be a few more weeks before we find out if we're having a boy or a girl.

Even though it's been almost 5 months, it still doesn't seem real!!!

  7. CONGRATULATIONS!!! Such exciting news! I spent most of my pregnancy in normal stretchy tops and maxi dresses. For maternity bottoms, I liked Gap and Old Navy - very soft and comfy items for a decent price.

  9. Congratulations!! I'm always grumbling about maternity clothing, but I've found ASOS has cute options (I have a new order on the way - so excited!). And Old Navy's jeggings have been a lifesaver. Target? Meh. It seems to fade and pill quickly, plus they're cutting the tops shorter than they used to so you have to size waaaay up which is. . . not flattering. :)

Yeah, the constant morning sickness sucks. with my first I was sick up until 8 months and even after that the smell of garlic would just kill me. I hope it clears up for you soon, that's just not much fun. you'll have to let us know when you learn if you're having a adorable little girl or boy!

  42. Congratulations! I just had my second baby in the spring, and what I learned with that pregnancy was to not buy maternity clothes, the selection is either tacky or crazy expensive. I had huge success with loose aritzia tops, and they are great for after baby is born.

    1. Thanks for the tips. I agree about the maternity clothes, I'm really trying to be creative so I don't have to buy many maternity items!

  43. Congrats! I'm also halfway there.:)

Loving your lace tunic! So pretty paired with a tonal cardigan.

I've been in maternity pants since week 5. They are super comfy and don't look weird at all. In, fact, I think they are better than my regular pant wardrobe. I've shopped Motherhood Maternity, A Pea in a Pod. I have Gap and Old Navy pants coming in the mail too. Target pants don't fit me, but their tops and sweaters are super cute. I just feel more comfortable in maternity wear. Granted it's not all the best quality, but if you're picky you can find some really cute pieces.

  44. Wow, EK, congratulations to you and Jay!!!! I am behind on my blog reading and I'm sorry I didn't congratulate you earlier. You're a super-hot mama-to-be in this beautiful outfit. I love the mix of neutral tones and textures as well as the pop of turquoise. I'm also really digging your over-the-bump belt cinch which shows off your curves. I imagine you could use a thin scarf too as your belly outgrows your belts. I'm sorry to hear about the morning sickness and I hope it means the karma will be returning in the form of smooth sailing from here on in!!

  45. super massive congrats to you both! every photo i've seen captures your beautiful glow and you are a high-voltage vision to be sure. i'm glad you're over the morning sickness part and can settle into nesting time now. many more blessings for all the years to come! ♥
